The AI Act

The AI Act is the EU’s first regulatory framework on artificial intelligence (AI). The AI Act is designed to (i) mitigate risks associated with AI, (ii) protect fundamental rights and (iii) ensure transparency and safety in AI use.

The Autoscriber App

Autoscriber has developed the Autoscriber App. The Autoscriber App allows doctors to record and structure the conversations with their patients, while they keep focus on their patients. AI is used to (i) convert the conversation to text and (ii) to create a summary of the conversation.

Autoscriber’s role under the AI Act

Autoscriber is classified as a provider of a general-purpose AI model. This means that Autoscriber must comply with specific requirements under the AI Act to ensure safety, transparency, and ethical AI use.

Compliance of Autoscriber

Autoscriber is fully compliant with its obligations under the AI Act. Autoscriber ensures a safe and ethical use of AI through:

1. AI training: Autoscriber trains its team on AI ethics and technical standards.
2. Technical Documentation: Autoscriber maintains detailed technical information on the model’s design, data processing methods, and security measures.
3. Integration of the AI model into other AI systems: Autoscriber makes information available for the integration of the AI model into other systems, which means that it clarifies the capabilities and limitations of the AI model.
4. Transparency on Training Data: Autoscriber collaborates with CAIRElab and LUMC for its training data. They can provide a high-level summary of the data sources used to train the AI model.
5. Copyright Compliance: Autoscriber has a policy to respect EU copyright laws.
6. Cooperation with authorities: Autoscriber is committed to cooperating with EU regulatory bodies to confirm compliance and support audits or inspections if needed.
7. Confidentiality: Strict protocols are in place to handle confidential information. Patient conversations are anonymised and the audio records are securely deleted after processing.

Your compliance

You, as a user of the Autoscriber App, whether you are a doctor or healthcare provider are classified as a deployer under the AI Act. Deployers have minimal obligations

under the Act for general-purpose AI models, as long as they adhere to general data protection and confidentiality standards. By choosing Autoscriber’s solution, you can

be confident you are using an AI tool compliant with the AI Act.

Conclusion:

Autoscriber’s AI model is compliant with the AI Act, safe and ethical. Autoscriber protects patient data and assures healthcare providers of a secure, responsible AI tool in their practice.
